Lehi was settled by Mormon Pioneers in 1850 and given the name “Lehi” after a Book of Mormon Hebrew prophet in the western hemisphere who led his followers to the promised land. The National Park Service designated downtown Lehi as the Lehi Main Street Historic District and it is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Utah Expeditionary Force was established at Camp Floyd in 1858. At the time, this was the largest military establishment in the US and it initiated major growth in Lehi City.
